The London Clinic supports St Marylebone School’s annual Activity Week

The St Marylebone CE School annual Activity Week takes place in July, offering our students a wide variety of enrichment activities and work experience opportunities. We are fortunate to be located in an area with an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience and many local businesses regularly help out by providing our students with enrichment opportunities. We firmly believe that these experiences are essential for personal development; not only do they broaden the horizons of our students but they also equip them with important life skills.

One of the most popular activities we run during activity week is the Year 9 Restaurant Challenge, where students work in teams to plan and run a pop up restaurant at the School.  As part of this activity, we ask an industry professional to provide an insight into working in their field and some tips to the students about preparing their dishes. This year we were thrilled that Paul O’Brien, the incredible and locally renowned chef from The London Clinic, agreed to offer his services. The students were so inspired by his enthusiasm and the expertise that he shared with them. The London Clinic also donated extra ingredients and equipment that really enabled the students to make and present their dishes to a much higher standard than they would have been able to achieve otherwise.

Paul’s input was invaluable and the students were really proud of the dishes they made and the great feedback they received from their diners. At the same time Paul really enjoyed his time at St Marylebone, so much so that The London Clinic has offered to provide ongoing support to the School and our students, including chef pop up demonstrations, event sponsorships and apprenticeships. This kind of collaborative community engagement is testament to the incredible community spirit that is so prevalent in the Harley Street area; how lucky we are!
