Five Minutes with Andrea Tartaglia, Managing Director of Isokinetic Medical Group UK

The Harley Street BID is home to an incredible variety of businesses, organisations, and practices. Each month, we take a moment to get to know some of the people who make this place so special.

This month, we’re meeting Andrea Tartaglia, Managing Director of Isokinetic Medical Group UK—an international medical group specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of muscular pathologies, as well as orthopaedic and sports injuries, based within the Harley Street Health District.

Can you give us an overview of your organisation and its focus?
Isokinetic Medical Group is an international private healthcare organisation, recognised as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. We specialise in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, offering world-class care for those recovering from sports injuries or seeking to prevent them. Over the past 35 years, we’ve refined a unique methodology to support recovery and optimise physical performance. While we have a long history of working with professional athletes, our services are available to anyone who values exceptional care and aims to stay active and healthy.

What are your main responsibilities, and what’s your favourite part of the role?
My primary responsibility is ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our Harley Street clinic. I lead an incredible team that includes doctors, osteopaths, rehabilitation experts, and administrative staff. Together, we deliver top-tier care in four distinct environments: our hydrotherapy pool, gym, neuromotor training lab, and outdoor field facilities. My favourite part of the role is stepping away from administrative duties to spend time with our patients. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing their satisfaction with the care we provide and witnessing their journey to recovery and improved performance. It’s incredibly inspiring to be part of a team that makes such a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

How would you describe a typical day for you?
I’d love to say there’s a typical day, but in reality, every day is unique! My mornings usually begin with a review of the clinic’s performance from the previous day and week. From there, priorities often shift quickly—patient care always comes first, and we frequently need to respond to unexpected cases, such as new injuries that require immediate attention. I try to carve out time to connect with both patients and staff throughout the day. These interactions keep me grounded and aligned with the clinic’s mission. Any remaining time is dedicated to strategic planning and development projects, ensuring we continue to innovate and grow.

What do you enjoy most about working in the Harley Street area?
Harley Street is a fantastic place to work. It’s easily accessible and has everything you might need just a short walk away. The area’s vibrant community spirit stands out—it’s common to bump into friends or business partners on the street, which makes it easy to stay connected. As a food enthusiast, I find the variety of restaurants in the area particularly exciting. Whether I’m looking for something casual or a fine dining experience, there’s always a great option nearby.

Do you have any hidden gems or favourite spots in the area you’d recommend?
For me, the proximity to Regent’s Park is a true blessing. As someone who enjoys running, I often head there for a workout or a moment of peace amidst nature.
Another favourite is Marylebone Lane. It has such a charming atmosphere and a wonderful selection of shops and cafes. I find myself visiting it multiple times a week—it’s hard to resist!

In three words, how would you describe the Harley Street/Marylebone Village experience?
Friendly. Surprising. Rewarding.

Share something interesting about yourself that others might not know.
People often associate me with a healthy and active lifestyle since I exercise almost every day. What surprises them, though, is my love of food—and the sheer enthusiasm I have when my “switch” is on! When I decide to indulge, there’s no holding back, and I thoroughly enjoy every bite. It’s all about balance, after all!
