Food, festive activities and lifesaving skills – upcoming events with Harley Street BID

The BID is inviting local businesses and their teams to get involved in a programme of events this autumn and winter, from street food and CPR training to Christmas wreath making and fundraising for hospital patients.

The programme offers opportunities to meet neighbours, learn new skills and support the local community.

BBC Street Food Market

The BBC Piazza will host the next street food market on Thursday 15 October, from 11.30am to 2.30pm.  The street food market brings together a selection of street food, outdoor seating and music, giving those working locally a chance to enjoy lunch away from their desks.

A further Christmas themed street food market will take place on Thursday 3 December.

Learn CPR during Restart a Heart Month

The BID is partnering with HCA Healthcare UK to offer CPR training on Friday 23 October at The Welbeck Hotel, 57–59 Welbeck Street.

The sessions will give participants an opportunity to learn essential CPR skills and how to respond when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

Three sessions are available:

  • 9am–10am
  • 12.30pm–1.30pm
  • 4pm–5pm

To book or find out more, email THSC.ResuscitationTeam@hcahealthcare.co.uk.

Get creative this Christmas

The popular Christmas wreath-making sessions return on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 December, offering local businesses and their teams a chance to get into the festive spirit and create their own wreath.

Help bring festive cheer to UCLH patients

The BID is also encouraging businesses to support UCLH Charity’s Gift of Giving appeal, helping bring a little festive cheer to patients spending Christmas in hospital.

Businesses can donate items for patient gift bags, organise team fundraising or offer matched giving. Other ways to get involved include:

  • Attending the UCLH Charity Carol Concert on 9 December
  • Taking part in Santa in the City on 10 December
  • Volunteering at festive station collections on 15 December
  • Purchasing UCLH Charity Christmas cards

To discuss gift donations or a corporate contribution, contact Jonathan Roberts at jonathan.roberts28@nhs.net.
