The Harley Street BID has achieved a major milestone by securing a £150,000 grant over three years in partnership with the Cross River Partnership (CRP).
This funding, awarded through the Mayor of London’s Air Quality Fund IV (MAFQ4) and the Healthier Streets Everyday Initiative II (HSE2), is part of a wider £1 million initiative supporting Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) across London.
What Does the Funding Mean for Harley Street?
The BID’s initial focus was for the grant award to be allocated towards the master planning exercise, with the remaining funds earmarked for supporting individual one-off projects. To meet the funding requirements, Harley Street BID is contributing matched funding of £150,000, equally over three years, which includes in-kind support such as research, management, and facilitation.
Moxon Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme
In August 2024, Harley Street BID partnered with Westminster City Council, the Howard de Walden Estate, and Ward Councillor Karen Scarborough to lead the ambitious Moxon Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme. Scheduled to begin in spring 2025, this project aims to create a healthier, more vibrant urban space for businesses, residents, and visitors. The total project cost is estimated at just under £1 million, with funding contributions secured from key stakeholders. The Harley Street BID team is now preparing an application for Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) funding to bridge any remaining funding gap.
