John Bell & Croyden hosts focus group to hear women’s views on breast health technology

John Bell & Croyden is partnering with femtech start up Dotplot to invite women of different ages and backgrounds to share their views on breast health technology during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

With one in seven women in the UK developing breast cancer in their lifetime, according to Breast Cancer Now, the sessions will explore women’s perspectives on breast health and the support they would value.

Three small focus groups will take place at John Bell & Croyden on Wigmore Street, London, across 28 and 29 October 2026. Each will involve a 90-minute discussion exploring women’s views on emerging breast health technology, accessibility and the services they would find most useful.

Dotplot is developing a handheld device designed to bring greater guidance and consistency to breast self-checks, helping women better understand their bodies and feel more confident about acting when something changes.

Its research with hundreds of women has highlighted common questions around self-checking, including remembering how an area felt previously, knowing whether they have checked everywhere and describing what they are feeling to a doctor.

No previous knowledge or experience of breast health technology is needed, and women from a range of ages and backgrounds are encouraged to register.

The partnership forms part of John Bell & Croyden’s work to explore emerging healthcare technologies and how they could support health and wellbeing in the future. It also reflects Dotplot’s ambition to make breast health part of everyday health through education, awareness and collaboration with healthcare and community partners.

Alexander Johnston, General Manager at John Bell & Croyden said:

“Women’s experiences and priorities should help shape the breast health technologies and services being developed for them. By working with Dotplot, we want to hear directly from women about what would be useful, what might make services easier to access and where they would welcome more support.

“You don’t need any technical knowledge to take part. We’re interested in your views, your questions and what matters to you.”

As a thank you for their time, each participant will receive a £30 credit to spend at the John Bell & Croyden online store.

Places are limited. Women interested in taking part are invited to complete a short registration questionnaire: register your interest here.
