Cyclists gathered in the gardens of St Marylebone Parish Church as Harley Street BID hosted a successful free bike safety event aimed at improving cycle safety and helping prevent theft.
Visitors were able to access a range of practical services throughout the day, including free bike security marking from the Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and complimentary bike MOTs from Westminster Wheels. The checks included safety inspections and minor repairs to help ensure bikes were road-ready.
The event attracted a strong turnout, underlining growing demand for practical initiatives that support safer cycling across central London.

Ashley Durling, Head of Operations and Security at Harley Street Business Improvement District, said:
“It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout for this event and so many cyclists taking advantage of these free services. Supporting safer cycling is about taking practical action, whether that’s helping prevent theft or making sure bikes are road-ready. When local organisations come together like this, it creates a real and immediate benefit for the whole community.”
Thank you to all the partner organisations involved – BikeRegister, Westminster Wheels, the Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and St Marylebone Parish Church for helping to deliver the successful event.
