Harley Street BID hosts free bike marking & MOT event

On Wednesday 21 May, Harley Street BID is teaming up with the Metropolitan Police, Fettle (faff-free bike repair), and St Marylebone Parish Church to help keep your bike safe and roadworthy.

Throughout the day, a Bike Marking and Bike MOT event will take place in the church gardens at 17 Marylebone Road, offering free services designed to protect cyclists and deter theft.

Bike Security Marking 12:00pm – 15:00
Have your bike security marked by the Metropolitan Police from our Safer Neighbourhood Team – a simple but effective deterrent to thieves. Once marked, bikes are registered, making it easier for police to trace stolen property and return it to its rightful owner. Thieves know the risk: if they’re caught with a registered bike, they can be linked to the crime. The security marking products used are approved by Secured by Design – the official police security initiative. No booking required – just turn up with your bike and take advantage of this free service.

Free Bike MOT 10:00am – 15:00
Trained mechanics from Fettle will be offering free Bike MOTs – a basic safety and maintenance check to help spot any potential issues and ensure your bike is in good working order. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just getting back in the saddle, this is a great opportunity to make sure your bike is safe, secure, and ready for the road.
