Harley Street BID unveils five-year plans ahead of renewal ballot

The Harley Street BID has unveiled its proposal for 2027–2032, setting out plans for another five years of business support, additional services and improvements to the local area.

The proposal outlines priorities for supporting businesses, improving the local environment and strengthening connections across the district. These include additional security and cleaning, recycling support, networking and events, alongside public realm projects to enhance streets and shared spaces.

The plans were presented at a reballot launch event, with contributions from Simon Baynham, Chairman of Harley Street BID; Howard Dawber OBE, Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth and Chair of London & Partners; Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE, Leader of Westminster City Council; and Linsey Cole, Director of Business Engagement and Graduate Futures at the University of Westminster.

The renewal ballot opens on 26 January 2027, as the BID approaches the end of its first term. A yes vote would secure another five years of BID delivery, enabling services to continue and further improvements to move forward.

Without renewal, BID-funded services would end, removing the additional security and cleaning provision, reducing recycling support and limiting networking opportunities and events.

Over the coming weeks, the BID team will visit businesses to deliver copies of the proposal, explain the plans and answer questions. These visits form part of the formal ballot process and give businesses an opportunity to discuss the proposals before voting.

Nicki Palmer, BID Director, said: “The BID team would like to thank all the businesses and partners who joined us at the launch to hear our plans for building on Harley Street’s world-renowned reputation and making the area safer, greener and more welcoming.

“As we look ahead, we remain committed to working alongside our members to ensure this area continues to thrive, grow and deliver lasting impact for everyone who works in and visits this part of London.”
