Harley Street will become the first medical district in the UK to pilot an innovative patient transport coordination service, helping to reduce congestion, improve air quality and make visiting clinics easier for patients.
Launching on 10 August 2026, the new initiative has been introduced in response to growing transport pressures across the district, including the recent closure of Q-Park Cavendish Square, which removed more than 400 parking spaces, alongside wider changes to Central London’s road network.
Developed specifically for the Harley Street Health District, the pilot will introduce a smarter way of managing patient transport. Rather than waiting outside clinics or circulating local streets while appointments take place, drivers will drop patients at their destination before travelling to a nearby dedicated parking facility. Once the appointment has finished, they will receive a notification via the LV app to return for collection.
The initiative aims to reduce unnecessary traffic, cut vehicle emissions and improve traffic flow, supporting Harley Street’s ambition to become one of London’s most sustainable healthcare destinations.
The pilot also seeks to improve the experience for patients by removing the stress of finding parking while ensuring they can still be dropped off directly outside their clinic. Drivers benefit from knowing exactly where to park and when to return, reducing unnecessary waiting time.
As well as environmental benefits, the project has been designed to create a positive impact for the wider community. A proportion of the revenue generated through the service will be returned to participating clinics each quarter to support local charities, community projects and other social initiatives.
Harley Street has a long history of pioneering innovation in healthcare, and this latest initiative represents another step forward by applying technology to solve one of the district’s most persistent challenges.
Healthcare organisations across Harley Street are now being invited to participate in the pilot, which launches on 10 August. Participation is free during both the pilot and any future rollout, with dedicated support available to help clinics integrate the service into their existing patient journey.
Clinics interested in taking part or arranging a demonstration should contact Hannah Lindsay, Project Lead – Harley Street Pilot, at enquiries@lvblackrock.co.uk or call 07885 264497.
