New public defibrillator and bleed control kit Installed on Great Portland Street

Harley Street BID is pleased to announce the installation of a second publicly accessible defibrillator and bleed control kit within the district, made possible through the support of HCA Healthcare.

The new lifesaving equipment is located on Great Portland Street at the junction with Park Crescent Mews East and is available for public use in the event of an emergency.

When someone experiences a cardiac arrest or suffers a serious injury, access to immediate treatment can significantly improve outcomes. Expanding the availability of publicly accessible defibrillators and bleed control kits is an important part of the BID’s ongoing commitment to improving safety and resilience across the district.

The installation forms part of a wider programme to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure that those living, working and visiting the area have access to vital lifesaving equipment when it is needed most.

Ashley Durling, Head of Operations and Security at Harley Street BID, said:
“Having immediate access to lifesaving equipment can make a critical difference in an emergency. We are committed to improving safety across the Harley Street district and ensuring that people who live, work and visit the area have access to the resources they may need when every second counts.”

“We are grateful to HCA Healthcare for supporting this initiative and helping to make the district a safer place for everyone. By working together, we can continue to strengthen community safety, improve emergency preparedness and create a more resilient neighbourhood. Increasing the availability of publicly accessible defibrillators and bleed control kits is an important step in ensuring help is available when it matters most.”
