The Harley Street BID is delighted to welcome Catherine Jenkins MRTPI as our new Planning & Placemaking Project Manager.
Joining at a pivotal time for the district, Catherine brings extensive experience in planning, design, heritage, and strategic placemaking across Westminster and Central London.
With the publication of the Harley Street Public Realm Masterplan, Catherine’s role will be instrumental in transforming its vision into reality. She will lead on championing the masterplan to local businesses and stakeholders and will work closely with partners to deliver an exciting programme of projects that enhance the neighbourhood’s character, improving public spaces, streets, greenery, and the overall visitor experience.
“It’s an exciting moment of change for the area,” Catherine says. “My role is about bringing the strategic vision to life, advocating for its importance, and helping create a more vibrant, welcoming, and high-quality environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.”
A Wealth of Experience Across London
Catherine trained as a town planner and urban designer at Cardiff University, before progressing into a range of roles across both the private and public sectors – spanning property, design and architecture.
Over nearly two decades, she has contributed to a diverse portfolio of Central London projects, many within Westminster and often involving heritage buildings. Her experience includes working as a client adviser, project manager, and member of design teams, as well as supporting neighbourhood forums on NCIL projects.
She has also helped cultural and community organisations deliver complex development programmes funded by external grants, and recently project managed a strategic greening enhancement vision close to the Harley Street and Marylebone area.
Why the Harley Street BID?
Catherine’s move into the BID aligns naturally with her ongoing part-time role at another Westminster BID, allowing her to bring shared insight and strategic understanding to the district.
“It was wonderful to be offered the chance to join the Harley Street team,” she says. “This role brings together everything I’m passionate about, placemaking, urban design, heritage, and working collaboratively to improve great places.”
Reflecting on her career, Catherine notes that it’s the variety of projects, rather than the roles themselves, that have shaped her most.
“I’ve had the chance to be involved in such diversity of projects over the years. That variety has made me excel at thinking creatively around a challenge.”
