London Vision Clinic Take Centre Stage at International ZEISS Eye Surgery Meeting

Leading specialists from Harley Street's London Vision Clinic have shared their expertise with eye surgeons from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa at one of the world's most influential ophthalmology events.

The clinic’s team was invited to present at the ZEISS EMEA Cataract & Corneal Refractive User Meeting 2026, a major gathering of cataract and refractive surgeons focused on the latest innovations in vision correction surgery.

Representing London Vision Clinic, Professor Dan Reinstein, Professor Timothy Archer and Dr Glenn Carp delivered a series of presentations, chaired expert discussions and led workshops covering laser eye surgery, presbyopia treatment and emerging refractive technologies.
The invitation reflects the clinic’s longstanding contribution to the field and its close relationship with ZEISS, one of the world’s leading ophthalmic technology companies. Professor Reinstein has served as ZEISS’s lead consultant for refractive surgery since 2002 and has played a key role in developing technologies and procedures now used by surgeons worldwide, including PRESBYOND and SMILE.

Among the highlights was Professor Reinstein’s presentation examining the evolution of lenticule extraction surgery and the latest generation of technologies used in the procedure. Drawing on decades of experience as a pioneer of SMILE laser eye surgery, he explored how innovation continues to expand treatment options and improve outcomes for patients.
Professor Archer presented new insights into PRESBYOND Laser Blended Vision, explaining how the treatment helps people with age-related vision changes achieve a continuous range of sight while maintaining excellent visual quality. His presentation drew on outcomes from thousands of patients treated at the clinic.

Dr Carp addressed one of the fastest-growing challenges facing refractive surgeons: helping patients who have previously undergone laser eye surgery, implantable lens procedures or cataract surgery and later develop presbyopia. His session focused on how modern techniques can restore spectacle independence while maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
The London Vision Clinic team also contributed to discussions on how clinics can successfully develop presbyopia services, sharing practical insights into patient pathways, treatment planning and personalised care.

SMILE laser eye surgery was another key focus of the meeting. Dr Carp chaired a specialist workshop on advanced SMILE surgery, joined by Professor Reinstein as part of an international faculty panel. Together, they shared best practice and lessons learned from many years of clinical experience, helping surgeons refine techniques and improve patient outcomes.
As one of the world’s most experienced centres for SMILE surgery, London Vision Clinic continues to play an important role in supporting the education and development of eye surgeons internationally.

This year’s event also marked the 30th anniversary of the ZEISS User Meeting, celebrating three decades of innovation and collaboration within the ophthalmic community. Delegates from around the world came together to share research, exchange ideas and strengthen professional partnerships.
